Introducing more of our Rattan/Wicker Collection. This collection is called Terra Verde.
Rattan, also known as Wicker, is an important non-timber forest product used to create furniture and other handicraft products. This exotic natural material belongs to the palm (Palmea) family and is abundant in the tropical regions of Asia such as the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The word rattan, as a matter of fact, was derived from the Malay word "rotan."
According to studies, there are 600 different species of this plant, including 13 corresponding generas. Ninety of these species are found in the Philippines, and about 1/3 of these species are uniquely native in the country. This is one of the reasons why the rattan craft in the Philippines is topnotch and of exquisite quality.
